Hi, I’m Aveeve.

MSW, RSW, CC-BRT (she/her)

I am a Registered Social Worker with over twenty years of experience providing compassionate therapy across a variety of settings—from women’s community mental health and the child and adolescent mental health system to crisis counselling and private practice. This means I draw from experience supporting individuals, families, and couples in diverse therapist roles to meet you in many life stages.

I’m deeply committed to supporting people throughout the reproductive lifespan and beyond. I believe reproductive and postpartum struggles are often minimized and misunderstood when what we really deserve is specialized support. I’m passionate about providing the best care I can, pursuing extensive advanced training and learning from my clients every day.

Human-First,
Hope-Focused

Clients often describe me as warm and straightforward—sometimes I ask the hard questions and sometimes we laugh together! There is no blank slate here. I’m known for being able help clients hold hope and acceptance, someone who believes things won’t always feel this way and who deeply believes in your capacity for resilience.

I prioritize a human-first therapy experience. My goal is for you to show up fully—with all the mixed emotions, complexity, and confusion that being human brings. I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach because I believe that what we feel, we can heal.

Therapy with me moves at your pace, and we work to build a sense of connection, safety in relationship and increase your ability to cope. From this shared foundation we will support complicated decision making, help you develop a path forward and use advanced therapy techniques to help you process grief and trauma.

Because I’ve Been There

Providing space for others to heal is deeply personal to me.

As someone who attends therapy myself and has navigated the path of reproductive trauma—including infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and postpartum struggles—I understand the weight of these experiences. I have ridden the waves of hope and despair, felt left behind and crushed by the grief.

While every story is unique, we all share the same wish: to feel like someone else “gets it.” Support during my own journey was crucial, and my hope is that no one has to experience reproductive loss or trauma alone.

Therapeutic Modalities:

While there is no “one right way” to do therapy, my focus is on relationship and evidence-based modalities. I am an experienced EMDR therapist with extensive training in trauma therapy. I also integrate insights from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), strengths-based counselling, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness to ensure your therapy is effective and personalized.

Beyond the Therapy Room

Community connection is a vital part of my life.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me managing the beautiful chaos of family life, reading YA fiction (nothing too heavy!), walking outdoors, or occasionally making it to a yoga class.

I also value mentorship and regularly volunteer, serve on non-profit boards, and offer clinical consultation to my peers.
